About Liberty Dogs™

Serving Those Who Served

Liberty Dogs celebrates the enduring bond between people and dogs, and the power that bond has to restore hope, dignity, and purpose for a U.S. Veteran.

Liberty Dogs was established by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation to honor and support two communities deeply valued by its founders: Veterans, and the remarkable Service Dogs who help them heal. Through Liberty Dogs, highly trained Service Dogs become lifelines for heroes.

Our Mission

Transform the lives of U.S. Veterans through purposeful canine partnerships and integrated wellness programs.

Leaving a Legacy

The Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation

Dave & Cheryl Duffield have spent decades building programs that create meaningful change. Liberty Dogs furthers this legacy alongside initiatives, such as Maddie’s Fund, the David A. Duffield College of Engineering and Duffield Hall at Cornell University, and numerous public service organizations supported by the Duffield family. Each initiative reflects the same vision: improving the lives of both people and animals.

From Our Co-Founder

“The well-being of pets is directly related to the well-being of people, and to play a part in this relationship for 30+ years has been one of life's great treasures.”

Media Opportunities

Help Share the Stories of Liberty Dogs

Some of the best stories show transformation you can see and feel. At Liberty Dogs, that looks like a Veteran walking across a graduation stage with a Service Dog they trained alongside. A shelter dog discovering their new purpose. A volunteer family watching the puppy they raised change someone's life.

If you're interested in covering our mission, we'd love to connect.
