Service Dog Program

A flagship initiative of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, Liberty Dogs™ is a national Service Dog training and placement program for U.S. military Veterans diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

During a two-week, on-campus experience, participants live and train alongside their Liberty Service Dog™, building a lasting bond that supports recovery and a more fulfilling life — all at no cost to Veterans.

Our dogs are trained extensively to perform a wide range of tasks, and each Veteran–Service Dog team is carefully matched for the best possible partnership. This program is designed to become a national leader in Veteran support and canine service excellence.

Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. Veterans with a VA-diagnosed, service-connected PTSD condition. The screening process includes background checks, coordination with mental health providers, and an in-person skills assessment.

Liberty Dogs is currently focused on training puppies for our first cohort of Veterans. We are not yet accepting participant applications, but if you’d like to be notified when the application process opens, please complete the inquiry form below.
